COMPANY PROFILE

AAPIL PLANNING CONSULTANCY is working in the field of architecture, landscape designing, interior planning &designing, project management consultancy since 1991.The work of AAPIL (Akare Architect, Planning Interior and Landscape designer) is wide spread over so many states which includes GUJARAT, ASSAM, MAHARASHTRA, GOA, CHHATTISHGARH and so on. Our key expertise involves Urban Planning, Architecture, Interior Designing, Landscaping, Poverty Research Work etc.

As a holistic way to address the poverty reduction, the SPRS Research foundation was born extending from North East to West. One wing of SPRS conducts biometric survey collecting the socio economic, livelihood, health, education & tenure details of urban poor & slum dwellers. In the biometric survey, we initiate informal public participatory meetings through various stake holders addressing the various local issues, livelihood, security & living environment issues. We had this exercise in Surat (Gujarat), Guwahati (Assam) and Nanded (Maharashtra). This exercise helped in the realization that this can be applicable to other remaining cities too.

We have expertise in this field for last 17 years particularly in mass housing, interior designing and hospitality projects. The urban planning wing started from 2000 onwards. After the 4 years of work in different urban planning projects, involving urban transportation, heritage & conservation, urban forestry, planning & designing of the satellite town & IT parks especially in the planning of the public participatory model kalpataru satellite township, Surat drawn attention for economic weaker sections which we find always missing in the development strategy for planning & designing.

From 2005 onwards we are concentrating on the poor communities. We worked for more than one and half years with the Navjeevan trust, Surat which operates in the urban slum areas. This brought a realization that the need of the slum dwellers can be understood only through the penetration into the livelihood of these communities. Then and then only the proper development strategy for the poor can be framed.

So far the literature and the Government definitions for the various social welfare schemes acts as a constrain for the genuine beneficiaries to be concerned for the development provisions. For this, the identification of the slum is crucial. The regional factor particularly on the livelihood justifies the identification of beneficiary and this call for the up gradation of knowledge on the ground realities on poverty.

Thus, as a holistic way to address the poverty reduction, the SPRS Research foundation was born extending from North East to West. One wing of SPRS conducts biometric survey collecting the socio economic, livelihood, health, education & tenure details of urban poor & slum dwellers.
